Halloween..
This is the villain in Halloween in two different stages, the first one on the left being when he was younger. This was captured at the start of the film when his parents arrive home and find him with a knife in his hand. This is daunting to the audience as he was so young when he committed this crime. Also with him holding a knife you can see that something isn't right with this boy and he needs help. However when he escapes from his psychiatric ward 15 years later he looks much more scary, this is because his face is covered up with a mask giving him a disguise. However in both images we can see him holding a knife which straight away relates to death or suffering. The second shot is very effective as we can see that he is looking down on his victim and this creates tension, this is because he is either watching someone beneath him or he has just pushed someone over the top.
VICTIM =
Scream..
This is the villain in the film Scream. From both of these images we can again see that he is in disguise and doesn't show is face, this makes the film much more scary as we are not sure who is behind the mask. However in the second image we can see the weapon which is a knife, this relates to the film Halloween as again the villain has some sort of weapon. The first image is very interesting in the way the villain is more shadowed into the background, this is because we can see the victim is in pain and is scared this prepares its audience for something bad to happen.
VICTIM =
Psycho..
This is the villain in the film Psycho, Norman Bates. The first image is shown in the trailer which I believe is very daunting and scary for the audience this is because it feels as if he is giving you a lot of eye contact which can be nerving for some people. This villain also uses the weapon as the two other films, a knife. The second image is scary for the audience as we are not sure who it is as the face is just a silhouette.
VICTIM =
What have I found from my research?
From doing this research I have been able to see that all of the villains that I have looked into have been males and all of there victims are women. However they also use the same weapon, in my film which I make I will try and make sure mine is different and there is no weapons used this then would build up more tension for the audience.
