Survey Evaluation.

Before we began to begin planning our film opening we created a questionnaire, this helped us to see what people liked and disliked about horror movies.

When we issued our questionnaire the main target audience who answered it were males and females between 14-19 years old. This is helpful to us as this age group is our target audience.

The age range which mainly liked horror films were people between 14-19, this results in us thinking that it would be a good idea to do our film to this certificate.

The people who took my questionnaire found that the top scariest effect in a horror movie is sound, this will be very important when we are making our film to make sure that our choice of sound and music is good. Location is also going to very important as it will set the scene will for the audience. Violence was also something which scared my audience, however because our film opening is a low budget it will be slightly harder to do this.

When we asked our audience what there favourite horror movies were they said there most popular films were; Paranormal Activity, Saw and Chainsaw Massacre. From there favourite films we can see that our target audience prefer more modern films.

From the above I can see that people watch horror movies about once or twice a month. However some people only watch horror movies once or twice a year, this could be because horror movies are less frequently produced than other conventional films.

From the above results you can clearly see that people prefer horror movies to be set in modern day. This is because they can then relate it to there lives.

A large majority wanted the victim to be female, I believe this is because in many horror films women are usually the victim. You can see that there were split views, this is because the males said they feel more comfortable seeing the women as they victim. But the women would rather see the men victimised.
Most of our audience believe that the male should always be the villain this is because men are seen as the more power people who have a higher authority. Also by having a male villain it makes the female audience feel more defenceless.
